Teaching Philosophy

Anton works with violists of all ages and skill levels, developing lifelong technical proficiency and exploring the joys and challenges of playing the viola. Creating a kinesthetic connection between the body and the instrument is key to feeling comfortable and being able to effortlessly produce a beautiful sound on the instrument. While no two students are alike, the fundamental relationship between body and instrument is a touchstone for every student, and a concept worth returning to at all skill levels on the viola.
